About Penny
Penny Nord, MA, LCPC, is a trained Experiential Therapist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She has been an educator and counselor for nearly 20 years, and as a result, her expertise has grown in the areas of relationships, chemical dependency, codependency, adult children of alcoholics, family of origin work and Twelve Step programs. She has vast experience working with a variety of populations suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and abuse.
A Missoula native, Penny graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the Counseling Education Program at the University of Montana. She received her training in Experiential Therapy from Onsite Workshops originally founded by Sharon Wegscheider-Cruse. As a trained therapist, Penny is now a group leader for programs offered at Onsite in Tennessee. She also maintains a private practice, Choices Counseling Services, in downtown Missoula.
Penny is best known as a teacher and practitioner. She emphasizes the importance of good communication, self-examination and awareness, identification and expression of feelings, and recognition and challenge of unresolved areas of life that can keep a person stuck and immobilized.
Penny is a member of the Montana Counseling Association, Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Missoula Downtown Association.
